Wingcast Selects GDT to Provide Street and Address Foundation for Telematics Services

LEBANON, N.H., May 13, 2002 - Geographic Data Technology, Inc., (GDT) a developer of premier map databases, today announced that its street and address data have been selected to support the services provided by Wingcast, a company founded by Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F - News) and QUALCOMM (NASDAQ: QCOM - News) to provide telematics services and applications to the automotive market.

GDT's U.S. Dynamap®/Transportation database will be a source of mapping data for safety, security and route assistance services for Wingcast subscribers. Compiled from a vast network of sources, Dynamap/Transportation North America provides street and address coverage, highly accurate one-way and restricted turn information, accurate representation of limited access highways, preferred routing names, and exit point layers.

Wingcast's initial telematics service offering, including hands-free, voice-activated calling and a variety of additional services, will be available beginning later this year. The Wingcast user interface enables eyes-on-the-road, hands-on-the-wheel access to its network of services. Additionally, Wingcast services will be available both from within the vehicle and outside the vehicle through other devices such as wireline and wireless phones, Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs), and computers to provide consumers with maximum flexibility in accessing the services.
