Online project marketplace establishes office in Asia/Pacific region and marks growth

Huntsville, Alabama, July 1, 2002 - Today, GISbid.com announced its expansion into the Asia/Pacific region by establishing an office Adelaide, Australia. GISbid.com will now provide an expanded list of projects to cover Asia as well as continuing to grow its North American listings. GISbid.com has already enhanced its website by allowing searches by geography and indicating the country from which the projects originate. The move is anticipated to provide its membership with global opportunities and to further develop a focused marketplace for obtaining information on geographic information system technology projects.

In addition, GISbid.com announced that its membership ranks had swelled to over 1400 members from over 35 countries. "It is our intent to become a single point of information and a worldwide resource for contracts, proposals, and projects, in the public and privates sector for GIS and location services," said Joe Francica, CEO. "Our phenomenal growth in membership during these initial months signifies that there is a very real need for the service we provide."

Dean Howell, executive vice president of GISbid.com will manage the office in Adelaide. Mr. Howell has over twelve years of experience in GIS and has managed projects in Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and the US. Mr. Howell is also the founder of GIS Jobs International and will be looking to expand GISbid.com to include other types of services for its members.

GISbid.com also announced introductory fees for six month or yearly membership intended to offer superior value to the professionals who have registered within the last three months. "Our fee structure is an exceptional value compared to other bid sites that make it difficult to find GIS-related projects. GISbid.com does the hard job of finding projects so our members to do not have to waste time searching for opportunities," Francica said. GISbid.com offers automatic email notification to members who want to evaluate RFPs and projects within a certain spatial discipline such as GIS, photogrammetry, wireless location services and others. The introductory fees will be valid until July 20th.
